Originally the personal collection of Sharlayan expatriate, Zancefer Mirandis, these days The Slanted Shelves is a research repository of unique and rare manuscripts, tomes, and artefacts.

A founding member organisation of the Sharlayan and Eorzean Friendship Association, the Slanted Shelves has been sanctioned by Sharlayan’s Forum as a conduit for the sharing of wisdom.

The library is open to the public to browse for research or relaxation from the eleventh morning bell to the sixth evening bell, Watersday to Darksday. Individuals wishing to borrow items from the library to take to another location can apply for a full membership. However, these are only granted at the Head Archivist and Curator's discretion.

Located in-game on Zalera, Goblet, Ward 28, Plot 21
The Slanted Shelves is not a staffed RP venue outside of scheduled events. But it is always open to visitors and free for other roleplayers to use for RP scenes or screenshots whenever the cottage is unlocked.

The Gilded Gavel is owned and operated by the Sharlayan expatriate, Zancefer Mirandis, and his expert associates.

Serving as an intermediary between buyers and sellers, the Gilded Gavel prides itself on both its discretion and care when it comes to its clientele and their holdings.

While silent auctions and bespoke sales happen regularly, the Gilded Gavel also hosts four auctions throughout the year on the premises, these are open to all members of the public.

Live Auction Bidding Rules

How to place a bid: Place your bids using the emote text feature begin your bid post with /em raises their paddle and then include your bid in gil value, and any other RP elements you'd like to add to it.
For Example: /em raises their paddle, "I bid one million gil!"
Any variant of the above phrasing is fine! Just be sure you've used the /em function, as this is what our Clerks will be looking for to record your bids.
Please remember all bids are to be made in fictional money. Our staff do not accept real gil for any of the lots available for auction. Any trade requests sent to staff during the live auction will be refused.When to place a bid: After each lot is displayed, bidders will have five minutes to place their bid. At the end of five minutes, the winning bid will be called by the Auctioneer and the lot will be closed.
The Auctioneer will open the bidding and close the bidding using Yell chat, so please be sure to have it visible during the event.Bidding increments: To keep the bidding wars fun and math friendly, the bidding increment for all lots during a live auction are in increments of 2,000 gil, e.g: 2k, 4k, 8k, 10k etc. up to 20k.ie: if someone bids 18,000 gil on the Azure Bloom Cane, the next bidder can bid 20,000 gil, 22,000 gil, or if they really want to take the lot home, 38,000 gil.(Don't worry if you forget the above rules! Auction House staff will be reminding participants of the bidding increments throughout the event!)

Founded by Zancefer Mirandis, CARGO or the Curio and Relic Guardianship Operation is an organisation dedicated to preserving, protecting, and storing items of note from throughout Hydaelyn's history.

Many of these items are made available to the public for research purposes through the Slanted Shelves, while others enter the public holdings of the Gilded Gavel's exhibit hall.
