Originally the personal collection of Sharlayan expatriate, Zancefer Mirandis, these days The Slanted Shelves is a research repository of unique and rare manuscripts, tomes, and artefacts.

A founding member organisation of the Sharlayan and Eorzean Friendship Association, the Slanted Shelves has been sanctioned by Sharlayan’s Forum as a conduit for the sharing of wisdom.

The library is open to the public to browse for research or relaxation from the eleventh morning bell to the sixth evening bell, Watersday to Darksday. Individuals wishing to borrow items from the library to take to another location can apply for a full membership. However, these are only granted at the Head Archivist and Curator's discretion.

The Slanted Shelves is not a staffed RP venue outside of scheduled events. But it is always open to visitors and free for other roleplayers to use for RP scenes or screenshots whenever the cottage is unlocked.
